Outstanding personalities have been meeting here for 60 years, the sophisticated and luxurious ambience of Oustau de Baumanière is well known for their etiquette (house of good manners in Provençal language). It is a magical and unique place, far away from modern life, providing a bucolic ambience wide open to the extraordinary nature of Baux de Provence and its countless olive trees fields, promoting relaxation. In the afternoon there will be a private visit to the medieval village of Baux de Provence, an authentic bird nest at the heart of the Alpilles, Les Baux-de-Provence is a major stop-off during the Provencal trip. Late in the afternoon there will be a private visit to an oil mill with an oil-tasting of different flavoured oils (Castelas Olive oil mill, Maitre Cornille olive oil mill).

After lunch departure will begin to Villeneuve les Avignon. On your way you will cross Tarascon, which was made famous by Alphonse Daudet and his famous Tartarin (Legend). The city is loaded with historical sights, Rene King of the Castle which is one of the finest medieval castles in France, the collegiate St. Marthe (and legend), St. Jacques Church, Hotel de Ville quad-centennial, the Baroque theatre and magnificent mansions which witnessed a prestigious past. Tarascon is also proud to have the museum of famous Souleïado fabrics, installed in a hotel fourteenth century in the city centre, (a market is held on a Tuesday morning). You will take a short break at Boulbon, a small Provencal village and former fortress that has been around for over 1000 years. You will discover the splendid view over the Rhône plains and the Montagnette. You will then arrive at Villeneuve les Avignon, accommodation will be at the superb and luxurious hotel Le Pieuré with its priest garden and climbing vines. This Relaxing and historical Castle, was built during the XIVth century, has an unusual charm. In charge at the hotel is Jean-André Charia, Alexandre Favier who is a former maître of the Oustau de Baumanière hotel and in the kitchen, Fabien Fage, who is in charge of the souf chef position in the Cabro d’Or.

In the late morning you will taste The Calissons (Diamond-Shaped sweets made with almonds and crystallised fruits) at La Confiserie Léonard Parli in Aix-en-Provence. Carole Fracalosso will welcome you to the handmade factory of Léonard Parli where he will explain to you the history of The Calissons, and he will let you taste this emblematic dessert, distinctive in Aix en Provence.
