The old town
Built by the new inhabitants from the end of the XV th century, the tall houses and their facades ocher, yellow or orange, are reflected in the waters of the port, which once housed their basements goods.
Urban oratories are small niches arranged on street corners or above the houses of entries. These modest improvements have a protective role for the house and its inhabitants, or may be votive offerings, materialization to a holy person.
In Saint-Tropez there is an urban oratories quarantine containing a statue of the Virgin Mary, Saint-Tropez, Saint Anthony of Padua, St. Roch or Christ.
Some are dated back to the XVII th century.
The old rampart and the street Argentiers
This old street of the old town ran along the ramparts from the Jarlier Tour to the door of Revelin. Thus, current street facades of Aumale are aligned with the old wall. Many vestiges of the street Argentiers and rampart are still visible.
